Apartment Maintenance Technician job at Timber Ridge Apartments Westminster, MD, US

Job Description

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our apartment building. Your responsibilities will include: • General Maintenance:

Perform routine repairs and maintenance tasks for both individual apartments and common areas within the complex.
Address issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance-related queries and complaints from tenants.

• Specific Duties:

Plumbing: Repair and unclog toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains.
Flooring: Replace carpets and wooden floors as needed.
Electrical: Install and repair wires, plugs, and switches.
Painting: Maintain communal areas and exterior walls by painting.
Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in shared spaces.
Safety Measures: Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits are in excellent working condition.
Inventory Management: Keep track of maintenance supplies to ensure availability.
Tenant Assistance: Unlock apartments when tenants lose or forget their keys.
Special Repairs: Schedule repairs that require specialized technical skills.

• Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience as an apartment maintenance technician or in a similar role.
HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification is advantageous.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds without assistance.
Dexterity, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Availability to work on-call after hours and weekends when needed
