Position Overview

Seeking a process engineer to improve mill processes relating to safety, reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. As a process engineer, you will work closely with process owners to implement process improvements and troubleshoot process failures. This individual will also work closely with customers on quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating efforts with department supervisors in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, paper machine efficiency, maintenance, root cause failure analysis and profitability. • Collecting and interpreting process data via data analysis and direct observation. • Coordinating continuous improvement projects and process development ideas. • Assisting with daily troubleshooting on the paper machine or secondary fiber. • Communicating with customers on quality issues and seeking feedback on quality initiatives including food safety. • Leading quality improvement projects to ensure customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science or related field. • One to two years of experience preferred in the Paper Industry or process engineering experience. This includes Co-op and Internship experience in the Paper Industry. • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels. • Experience in collecting and analyzing data. • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and statistical software. • Strong team player who can effectively work with others to meet objectives and timelines. • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
