Medical Assistant Instructor – Future Opportunities Locations: Norfolk, Newport News or Chesapeake Schedule Options: Full‑time & Part‑time | Day & Evening Shifts Compensation: Up to $25/hour Licensure Required: RMA or CCMA certification; BLS certification (within 6 months of hire) Position Overview Do you have a passion for healthcare and a desire to share your knowledge with the next generation of medical assistants? What You’ll Do As a Medical Assistant Instructor, you'll teach assigned classes, guide hands‑on learning in labs, and mentor students toward career success. You'll also: Provide classroom and lab instruction in an engaging, student‑centered way Help prepare curriculum and maintain instructional materials Keep detailed attendance and academic records Submit student grades, evaluations, and required documentation promptly Identify and communicate student attendance concerns Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development Use proven student retention techniques to support learning Monitor and maintain classroom and lab equipment and supplies Maintain a neat and orderly instructional environment Support student progress by completing educational performance modules Promote a positive, team‑oriented atmosphere What You’ll Bring Required Qualifications: RMA or CCMA certification required BLS certification (within 6 months of hire) At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in the medical assisting field Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally as needed Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or education-related field Experience with CampusNexus or other student information systems Schedule Options (Fridays Off!)
